The Story of Thomas Antony.

Thomas Antony - Artist
Where It All Began
I am Thomas Antony, a digital artist born in Thiruvalla, Kerala, and currently based in the United Arab Emirates. My roots are deeply tied to the lush traditions and spiritual richness of Kerala, a place where storytelling is embedded in every mural, every dance, and every temple carving. That cultural grounding gave me an early fascination with imagery and narrative—two elements that continue to define my work.

My artistic journey began not with a brush, but with a feeling—a deep, quiet pull toward capturing life's beauty. After graduating from KSS School of Arts Kottayam in 2000, I moved to the UAE in 2006, a turning point that exposed me to a multicultural creative landscape. This transition expanded my perspective and introduced me to the limitless potential of digital art.

The challenges were many—shifting from traditional methods to digital, carving a space for hyper realism in a fast-moving industry, and navigating life as an expat artist—but each struggle became a stepping stone. My passion was fueled by a personal desire to not just document life, but to elevate it—making the invisible emotions and fleeting moments eternal.
Inspiration Through Travel
Travel has always been one of my greatest sources of artistic inspiration. In 2018, my journey to Georgia, near Russia, opened my eyes to breathtaking landscapes and serene natural beauty. The mountains, rivers, and quiet charm of the place awakened my creative senses and brought me deep mental peace.

In 2019, I traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where I was moved by the powerful blend of beauty, culture, and history. The stories held within its streets and architecture left a lasting impression on how I see the world. My artistic journey continued in 2023 with visits to Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal—each country offering its own rich artistic heritage. From Renaissance masterpieces to modern expressions of culture, every experience added new layers to my understanding of creativity.

In 2025, I returned to Italy, and later travelled from Ireland on August 6 to 16, gaining fresh perspectives and renewed inspiration. Across all these journeys, I learned that every place has its own soul, its own colour, and its own rhythm. Each destination gifted me new ideas and deeper insights into the global language of art. These travels did more than inspire me—they reminded me that art is a universal language that connects people beyond borders, cultures, and time.
My Artistic Vision
For me, art is not just a picture—it's an emotion, a story, a memory brought to life. I believe that even ordinary moments hold beauty. My goal is to help people see that beauty and feel it through my work.

My Indian heritage gives my work depth and spirituality, while my life in the UAE brings cultural balance and diversity. I mainly work in digital hyper realism, a style that allows me to create life like detail, but with warmth and meaning.

In 2024, I founded Lueur Art, my own studio in the UAE, with the mission to preserve memories through emotional, realistic art that makes you feel something real.

One Work That Changed Me
1. One artwork I hold close to my heart is a digital painting that tells the story of a girl named Ajna George. She was a big inspiration for me, and creating it brought a significant change in my work. Ajna George (02.04.1994-21.01.2022) was born in Kochi, India. She went to her eternal rest on 21st January 2022 after bravely fighting Osteosarcoma (cancer) for the last 5 years of her time here on Earth. That painting wasn't just a portrait—it was a tribute to resilience and grace.

2. After visiting the town of Assisi in Italy and seeing the places associated with Saint Francis Xavier, I was inspired to create a landscape style painting of Saint Francis Xavier. It was a digital painting and one of my best works. "Each painting has its signature, and that inspires me to create new works."

My Creative Process
When I start a new artwork, I first imagine the moment, the feeling, and the story I want to tell. I take time to think quietly and let the idea grow in my mind. Then I begin to sketch.

Music often helps me get into the right mood. Sometimes I listen to soft Indian classical tunes or Arabic melodies that match the emotion I'm trying to show. I love observing people and nature—their expressions, movements, and small details. These moments inspire many of my works. I also do careful research before starting a painting, especially when the subject is cultural or historical. My process goes through several steps, from rough sketches to detailed final touches.

One painting that means a lot to me is "The Legacy of Pearl Divers." It tells the story of the brave Emirati men who once risked their lives diving into the sea to find pearls. This artwork honors their strength, teamwork, and silent courage. Creating this piece helped me feel a closer bond with the UAE, the country I now call home. It reminded me that true art respects the past while speaking to the present—bringing stories to life in a way people can connect with today.

What I've Learned and What Comes Next
Art has taught me to observe life closely, to value silence, and to see meaning in small things. Through my work, I've learned patience, humility, and the deep power of human connection.

In the future, I want to keep growing Lueur Art, work with more cultural projects, and tell stories that matter. My dream is to leave behind a visual archive of feelings and memories—something future generations can look at and feel seen.

Thomas Antony continues to bring people closer to their emotions and stories through art that speaks gently but deeply.
